MacBook Diagnosis & Troubleshooting Guide

1. 🔍 Initial Intake (Customer Check)

• Ask:
  • What’s the issue? (slow, not turning on, overheating, etc.)
  • When did it start?
  • Any liquid damage or drops?
• Inspect physically:
  • Screen cracks
  • Keyboard condition
  • Ports (charging, USB-C)
  • Signs of liquid (corrosion, residue)

2. 🔌 Power Issues (No Power / Not Charging)

Diagnosis:

• Try different charger & cable
• Check charging port (USB-C / MagSafe)
• Look for battery swelling

Solutions:

• Replace charger (if faulty)
• Clean charging port
• Replace battery
• Replace charging IC or logic board (advanced repair)

3. 💻 MacBook Not Turning On

Diagnosis:

• Check for:
  • No display but fan running
  • No sound, no lights
• Reset:
  • SMC (Intel Macs)
  • NVRAM/PRAM

Solutions:

• Battery replacement
• Logic board repair
• Screen replacement (if display dead but system works)

4. 🐢 Slow Performance

Diagnosis:

• Check Activity Monitor
• Check storage usage
• Check RAM pressure

Solutions:

• Upgrade SSD (if possible)
• Clean macOS / reinstall
• Remove startup apps
• Replace thermal paste

5. 🌡️ Overheating / Fan Noise

Diagnosis:
